NEW MEDIA TRAINING SESSIONS

Twitter? Facebook? Ning? LinkedIn? With a number of social networking sites growing rapidly in popularity, many groups are ready to join the online community, but are unsure of how or where to start.  Majority Connections, LLC is now offering training sessions to help campaigns and businesses understand the different social networking sites and how to use them to their best advantage. These training sessions are uniquely tailored to address the needs of your organization, small businesses, church, etc.

During the training session, we’ll answer questions like:

  • What is “Social Media”?
  • Do I need a Facebook Page or Profile?
  • How do I get more followers on Twitter?
  • What are hashtags?
  • Should our group Tweet in first person?
  • I want to start my own blog- where do I begin?
  • How are similar groups using Twitter and Facebook?
  • Can we fundraise on Twitter?
  • How do we use Twitter and Facebook to increase sales?

The New Media Political Training Sessions are comprehensive and tailored for conservative politicians, activists, and organizations with the goal of helping the conservative movement’s leaders establish a strong online presence for their unique conservative causes.  Participants will not only gain a working knowledge of each of the major platforms, but will also leave with a better understanding of how social media is revolutionizing the political process and the conservative movement.

New Media Training Sessions for small businesses, churches, and other groups are typically focused on creating strong accounts and analyzing successful strategies.

Who can participate?

This is completely up to your group. While training sessions could include any person affiliated with your organization, you might choose to limit group strategy sessions to a select few. It is also important to note that these sessions can be as basic or advanced as the group wants.  These training sessions are tailored to your group’s unique needs and can be adapted to many different scenarios.

What do the training sessions include?

In addition to an outline of the platforms listed above, the training sessions could also include group strategy sessions, overall discussions of new media and the conservative movement, and any other topics the group wishes to discuss. Furthermore, participants in the group will receive printouts with step-by-step guides for many of the platforms discussed.

What does the group need to provide?

  • The room and participants. It’s important that the room used has an internet connection and even better if the room is equipped with a screen projector.
  • Computers. It is helpful for participants to bring laptop computers to share or for the meetings to be held in local computer classrooms (local schools where rooms can be rented) or libraries with conference rooms.

How much does it cost?

Majority Connections is committed to providing low-cost services to members of the conservative movement and will work with your group to come up with a feasible rate.  Some groups may choose to use the training sessions as a fundraising opportunity for the larger organization. This is definitely recommended and Majority Connections can help you come up with a plan! Contact Jessica for more information.

What if we have more questions after the fact?

Ask them! Every participant will receive Jessica’s contact information at the training session for this very purpose. Your questions are welcome and encouraged!
